LFGSD Wire has no accounts and no sign-in. There is nothing to type into the app, and nothing you type is stored anywhere.
Notifications
If you turn notifications on, Apple and Firebase issue your device a push registration token. You do not choose it and it does not identify you by name. The app sends that token, together with the topics you switched on, to our server, which stores them so that notifications for those topics can be delivered to your device. That is the only purpose it is used for.
Our server deletes its copy of the token when you switch every topic off, and when Apple or Firebase revokes the token. Nothing else is stored with it.
On your device
Your theme choice, your notification topic choices and the push token are kept on your device, in the app's local storage. Recently loaded news and game data are cached on the device so the app opens without a connection. None of this leaves your device except as described above.
No tracking
The app contains no analytics kit, no advertising kit and no tracking of any kind. We do not sell data and we do not share it with anyone for any purpose other than delivering the notifications you asked for. Our server runs on Fly.io, stores the token in Supabase, and delivers notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging; those services process the token on our behalf and for nothing else.
Where the content comes from
News comes from third-party publishers and reporters, and game data from Major League Baseball's public statistics API. The app credits sources and links to their reporting; it does not reproduce their articles. Loading the app also fetches player photos from MLB's image service, fonts from Google Fonts and the Firebase library from Google's servers. Those are ordinary web requests, and like any website they see your device's address; the app sends them nothing else.
